10/24/23: More than 230 letters have been sent to the Army Corps and Regulators vehemently opposing issuance of the Mooring Permit.

10/21/23: UNEPF dispels misinformation being promulgated by or those sympathetic to the Shipyard.

10/19/23: Upper Nyack demonstrates leadership by issuing a letter to the Army Corps asking that the full application be made available and questions various assertions contained in of the Public Notice.

10/19/23: UNEPF analyzes the true contents of Shipyard's "mooring application" - filled with inaccuracies and deceipt. The Public Notice is defective. It does not state the true sets of activities to be approved and doesn’t not clearly state the impact to the area. This Permit seeks to (i) encumber 45 acres of water, over one square mile, with moorings and barges – 10x more than what is on the face of the Application and (ii) prewires multiple dredging events without regulatory oversight and no duty to perform customary impact studies.

10/18/23: Friends of Upper Nyack Waterfront reaffirms its support for a preliminary injuction against use of the moorings.

10/18/23: Despite receiving over 100 letters opposing the permit and asking for a public hearing, Army Corps responds asking concerned stakeholders to re-state why they want a public hearing. Many respond with shock and disappointment - our vested rights have been stolen.

10/6/23: Congressman Lawler issues letter to Army Corps requesting (i) the full application be made available to the public and (ii) the expiration date of the Public Notice "be extended to 60 days following the publication of the full application and its supporting documentation."
